Walk for Life, Fight for Peace

end-impunityWe, in the human rights umbrella KARAPATAN-Cebu, support the call of the Roman Catholic bishops in their recent Pastoral Letter to defend human rights and the most fundamental right to life.  Concomitantly, we also support their call for a grand procession dubbed as “Walk for Life” on Feb. 18, 2017 in opposition to the spate of vigilante-style killings in the country and proposals to revive death penalty. KARAPATAN WELCOMES REACTIVATION OF GOV’T-NDF RIGHTS ACCORD

 

The premier human rights umbrella in Cebu welcomes the signing by the peace panels of the  government and of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) of the supplemental guidelines of the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) that leads to reactivation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Respect of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL).
